You are now tuning in to the life of...
Now a PSYCHO-student at HELP University College, proud to be one. Graduated from HMC in 2008 as a Workaholic of the student council. Aims to achieve in life - mentally, spiritually, emotionally, physically, socially. XD
A very compulsive person [Princeton Dictionary definition: very compelled to do certain things] Well, I like to think that this trait gives more pros than cons haha
Often quotes, "To be happy is a conscious choice that we need to make".
Does graphic designing, web designing, and video compiling as hobbies.
Still aims to be a Female commercial airline pilot. (Waiting to officially turn 18 years old upon Cadet Pilot application)
As for now, I wanna give my very best and do well in the field of PSYCHO-logy.
Lastly, I'm still a 5/8 puzzled soul who attempts to discover God and Christ entirely.

Not another tribute?
The news is out, yes. Everybody knows that Michael Jackson has passed on so suddenly.
It's pitiful. During the days before he died, he was so indebted and encountered all kinds of endeavors, even the media put him in such bad light. But now after he died, only do people start to pay tribute to him and appreciate his work and existence. It's sad to see that people realize what are the things that are precious and worth valuing only after they have lost it, don't you think so?
The ordeal of Michael Jackson has definitely made me realize something - that life very unpredictable. We KNOW that life is short, we KNOW that we should cherish every moment living on earth, but how many of us really think that this is so important and remind ourselves to be grateful for everyday given to us?
Well, I'm not trying to judge anything here because I'm included as well. I create bucket lists, resolutions, dreams and goals. My aim, all these while, is to experience and explore as many things as I can in life - and that's good. But now I start to realize, that I've included everything on my to-dos, but I was lack of one thing - to cherish the people who love me most, my family.
Those who know me well would have known that I do encounter a lot of family problems all my life. Well, no matter because I don't deem them as problems anymore but simply a part of me and my family. The point is, did I actually detach myself from them instead? Have I really adopted a fresh perspective of the matter, or have I actually ignored it entirely?
The question remains.
Tonight, let me end my post with this short video clip that I've bumped into on Youtube, featuring Paris Jackson who spoke at her father's funeral.
Be empathetic. Put yourself in her shoes and try to feel how she felt. Foooh! It's incredible I'd say.
Good night everyone.

THE Zorbing post (finally!)
Finals are over, which means my second semester is over, and my scholarship application is over, so pretty much all the stressing chapters are over! Whee!
I have just begun my 1 month-20 day-break since yesterday. And finally, there is so much time for me to do the things that I've always longed for! I'll be renewing my 2009 Resolution list and will blog about it the next post, alright.
Okie doks! Here's a post about my Zorbing experience last month, as a participant as well as an organizer. I know it is a post that is long due, but... who caresss.....busy maaaa! LOL!
*Note: This post is dedicated to Jia and Nat. Thank you both for the awesome photographs and moral support given for me to complete this post. Lol!
In case you are wondering what event this is, click here to find out more!

READY? GET SET?
"PUSSHHHH!!!"

Yayyyy! Mission accomplished!
Yup, that was the only way for us to get into the ball. To me, it looks like a 'reversal delivery', if you get what I mean. HAHHAHA
(Photo credits of the 3 photos above go to Jessica Yong)
The participants who needed transport - there were only SEVEN of us! and we were chartered a coach that caters for 44 (quality holiday coach okay). Hah! Thanks to Cdr Anthony for the sponsorship though.
The few of us who stayed back. We had free 'hamster-runs'. It was so awesome. Just imagine stuffing yourself in a ball like that without a harness, and poof! the dudes just start rolling you about. Haha...it totally busted my stress. Now, I truly know what it feels like in a dry washing machine.
In conclusion, ....
aih..I'll finish up my conclusion later on, of how awesome this experience was and what sort. Rushing to go out now! I'm gonna sign up for my Undang! WHHEEE!!! after all these yeaaarrrss XD

A Reunion of the 5BR-ians
I just came back from the 5BR (Bunga Raya, 2007) reunion dinner at Eeling's place. Full of laughter and lots of catching up done. It was a simple get-together, where we did nothing else but talk, talk, and more talking. Of course, in any occassion, it wouldn't be satisfying if there isn't any food. We ordered 2 large and 1 medium pizza from Domino's, which were sufficient to fill the stomachs of about 12 people, amazingly.
Overall, it was an enjoyable 2-hour. The subjects, jokes, gossips, and mimics of our former teachers certainly relished a whole lot of my high school experience.
Gah! As stressful and restricted the life of a 16-year old in high school can be, I still miss my secondary school years. How I wished I could relive a day in Form 5, and return to present time the next day. Hah!

At the college library on a Saturday morning
It's a Saturday, there's Finals on Monday, and I'll be having an outing tomorrow. I'm now at the HELP library on a Saturday morning. I thought I'd be the only weird and lonesome student to travel all the way to campus even on a weekend, but to my surprise, it's quite crowded here. I'm suppose to resume my studies, but here I am, visiting other people's blogs, and ta-da! I suddenly felt inspired to blog a post.
Sien... Yesterday, I stayed up late till 5am, toying around with the html codes on my experimental blog. Madness... Oh well, at least I accomplished something - my latest illustration for the upcoming Psychology Futsal Challenge:![[Futsal_Tournament_Poster_01.jpg]](http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_n-mzex2bvrk/Sk7gNkFAznI/AAAAAAAAAXE/lHYeGBAgZMk/s1600/Futsal_Tournament_Poster_01.jpg)
Layout design by me, but this time, due to time constraint, the background was imported; Background credits go to Disenador@Deviantart. (NOTE: This is only a draft, the details are for display purposes only)
Hopefully, I would be able to score well on Monday. (You Chong calls me kiasu =.= lol, I'm not =P)

How To Use Spirituality for Stress Relief
Here's How:
- Pray Often. Prayer can help you feel more connected with God, leaving you with a calmer, safer, more grounded feeling that can act as a buffer against stress. It can also bring benefits similar to the benefits of meditation, including lower blood pressure, increased immunity, and more.
- Express Gratitude. Although the benefits of gratitude toward God are more prevalent among older women than older men, gratitude toward God has been linked with improved health outcomes, and can reduce the experience of stress as well. One effective way to increase your gratitude level is to keep a gratitude journal, in which you record all for which you are grateful. Then, you’re left with a list that can act as a pick-me-up when you’re feeling down, and you get into the habit of noticing all that is good in your life as you write about it.
- Be Intrinsic. Just as there are many different faiths, there are different ways to experience religion within a faith. Some people express their spirituality ‘intrinsically’, or in a more personal way, dedicating their lives to God and to becoming a good person. Others use religious involvement ‘extrinsically’, or to meet external needs like finding friends or developing greater standing in a community. According to research, you experience greater benefits from being intrinsically oriented.
- Be Optimistic. There’s a lot of value in the phrase, ‘When God closes a door, He opens a window.’ (Those who have a greater trust in God may be more optimistic. Research shows many benefits to optimism, which you can read about here.) Having trust that there is always another option available can help you develop a more internal locus of control, which brings many benefits as well. Trust your abilities, trust your situation, trust God.
- Find The Lesson. Those who are more spiritual have the benefit of seeing stressful situations as tests of strength, or even as valuable lessons from God. This can be a good distinction, as viewing a stressful event as a challenge can make the event itself feel less threatening. If you feel less threatened, you aren’t as physically reactive to stress, and you may find more effective ways to cope, turning a difficult situation into a path to a better life or greater personal growth.
- Use The Law of Attraction. There’s been a lot of press about the Law of Attraction, but this principle has been studied for centuries. Simply put, what you focus on is what you attract; if you focus on your frustrations, these experiences will continue, whereas if you focus on what you want in life, you’ll draw these positive things in. See this article for more on using the law of attraction in your life to create positive change.
My thoughts:
In response to my previous post, I certainly was speechless when I came across this article while researching for my assignment at 4.46am in the morning. I am awed by the fact that the author has combined concepts that I once deemed paradoxical, and even made them seem parallel.
For example,
- The greater belief and faith in God, the stronger internal locus of control.
- How she combined both God and.... Law of Attraction?
Kudos

Hey! I Bumped into an interesting article today, and thought that I might want to share it with others. =)

Baby Boy Born Without a Penis
KANGAR: While the birth certificate of 10-month-old Muhammad Nabil Mustaqim Rodzake states that he is male, he lacks a penis.
When he was born without the male organ last Aug 10 at the Tuanku Fauziah Hospital, he was subjected to a DNA test which confirmed he had more male characteristics.
Unusual condition: Rodzake and Zatul Bazamah showing their son Muhammad Nabil at their home near Kangar. — Bernama Nabil Mustaqim was also born without a right thumb, right ear and proper eyelids.
His mother, Zatul Bazamah Abd Rahman, is now seeking help from medical specialists to fix the problem.
Zatul Bazamah, 26, said:
“We are sad to think that he will grow up without the male organ, and the emotional stress that awaits him.”
The baby – the second child in the family – is now receiving treatment at the Tuanku Fauziah Hospital and Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Star.
“We have been told that our son needs to wait a little longer for suitable treatment for his genitals while his other physical defects could be fixed with plastic surgery when he is four years old,” said Zatul Bazamah at the family home in Kampung Batu Lima near here.
*
My Thought:
Hmm..... the parents don't seem to look sad in the photo though. =P
Anyhow, hopefully the baby will do fine, especially with the existing technology. =)

Iranian Protest at UN Building (KPD/Wisma HELP)
Police Fire Teargas on 700 Iranians at Wisma UN (Update)
KUALA LUMPUR: Police fired teargas to disperse about 700 Iranians, mostly students, who had gathered outside Wisma UN in Jalan Semantan here to hand over a memorandum protesting developments in their homeland. The Iranians had permission to gather outside the UN building at 2pm on Monday. They handed over the memorandum to a UN representative, voicing their grievances and dissatisfaction over the recent election in Iran.

A lone protestor stands while holding a banner aloft as Malaysian police fire tear gas into a group of Iranian students to disperse them after a rally outside the United Nations office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Monday. (AP Photo/Mark Baker)Mahmoud Ahmadinejad won the election last week amidst allegations of blatant vote-rigging from opposing candidate Mirhossein Mousavi and his supporters.
The memorandum called for the United Nations to not recognise the newly-formed government, and to establish a commission to investigate the truth behind the election.
Some of the Iranian protestors left after the memorandum was handed over, but most decided to stay on and stage a sit-in.
“Despite our warnings to disperse, they refused to budge,” said Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm of Police (ACP) Wan Abdul Bari Wan Abdul Talib, adding that some wanted to give speeches.
“We refused to allow this because they did not have a permit,” he added.
“They continued shouting ‘Down with the dictator’ and ‘Where is my vote?’ and started singing the Iranian national anthem,” ACP Wan Abdul Bari said.
He said police were forced to fire teargas to disperse the crowd. Some of the protestors fled into the Wisma HELP carpark before dispersing peacefully.
There were also reports that police had fired a warning shot first.
ACP Wan Abdul Bari said that no one was injured during the incident and that no arrests were made.
The incident caused a massive traffic jam along Jalan Semantan.
My thoughts:
Frankly, after viewing so many clips of the protest and read news about it, I'm feeling rather anxious right now. Anxious for the Iranians. On the other hand, as political as it can be, this incident truly made me realise of how real the so-called 'stories' can be in life - especially since this entire hullabaloo actually took place at the site of my very own university! (how I wished I could stay longer to witness it myself) Of course, the situation now involves much more Iranian political conspiracies and complications, and I would stand neutral about everything.
Bottomline is, as cliche this may sound, I feel real grateful that I have yet to experience such chaos in Malaysia, and hopefully I'll never have to. =P
Here's a video of the protest that took place, recorded by one of my HELP friends - Hamid! =) Do check it out, especially if you're a HELP student.
That's all for today!
